Public Consultation 2021-2027
The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, the Department of Education and Skills, and the three Regional Assemblies are launching a consultation process to inform the selection of priorities for the use of EU cohesion funding in Ireland for the period 2021-2027. Specifically, we are seeking views to inform the development of:
1. A Partnership Agreement covering the relevant Common Provisions Regulation Funds; and
2. Operational Programmes for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
Stakeholders had an opportunity to express their views at a consultation workshop on the 28 July 2020. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the event was conducted virtually using Zoom. The event consisted of one main session followed by three consecutive workshops. Chaired jointly by DPER and the DES, the purpose of the main session was to inform participants of the EU proposals for 2021- 2027 and the preparation process in Ireland so far. The workshops sought views on how needs at a national and regional level can be best addressed by the Funds and aimed to identify the priorities for investment and highlight potential projects/activities. Breakout sessions were organised on a regional basis and included a focus on the main priorities of the individual Regional Spatial & Economic Strategies (RSES). You can watch the event or download the presentations from the workshops on the dedicated consultation website.
Interested parties are invited to submit their views by way of response to the survey on the consultation website. The survey will be open from 13 July until 4 September.
Responses are welcome from all parties, regardless of whether you have been involved with the Funds in question before.
